Tom, Laurie and Care Halverson We have a home in the country in north central Minnesota where the children can run and play and not worry about making a mess or getting dirty. We have a swimming pool, trout stream nearby for fishing and lots of room to run. Our home is paid for so we have some money for extra things. We have 5 loving, gentle dogs and 3 cats and are happy to add more if a little girl or boy needed a puppy or kitty of their own to sleep with. We have a horse riding trail right by our house but far from any dangerous roadways. We do lots of fun things like hike in the woods, harvest sap and make maple syrup with Grandpa and Grandma. There are lots of flowers in the field to pick and butterflies to chase. We like to watch tv and movies and play video games. Tom likes to write children's stories. Some of our family traditions include birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Halloween celebrations. We have a large empty master bedroom just waiting. We have two Suburbans that will seat 6 extra children. We make our living by going to craft shows and doing live portraits of children as angels, fairies, mermaids, etc., or just their beautiful selves. Laurie plans to restart her childcare when we adopt so that she can stay at home with the children. We have been married 20 years, and Care is 18 years old. She is home schooled and was college level in reading comprehension in second grade. She will be completing her school work next year. She is working, sketching the pictures done from photos that customers send to her and opening a used bookstore this fall. She is excited to have a little sister or brother. We are not rich, but we have lots of love to give to more children. We do not smoke, drink or swear, and we try to always keep a positive environment. We have completed a home study through Permanent Family Resources, gotten our Foster License and completed the Background Study through the FBI. All that remains is the birth parents' signatures at the birth of the baby. If you want us to adopt your child you must say so specifically -- better, put it in writing to the agency. What should you do if you choose us to adopt your baby? Contact our licensed adoption agency at the number below and name us as your choice. They will professionally guide you through the legal process. Thank you and God bless you for choosing us! Permanent Family Resources can be contacted at 218/998-3400 |
